      • Investigated neotectonic aspects of fault-related folds in the Kachchh Rift Basin (KRB) and fault zones in Saurashtra, India.• Field structural investigations of fault-related folds in KRB, mapping of knickpoints, DEM analysis, swath profiles and longitudinal river profiles, and inferred Late Quaternary neotectonic uplift (Shaikh et al., 2019).• Morphometric analysis of several drainage basins in micro-earthquake swarm-prone regions of Saurashtra and inferred Holocene tectonic activity (Vanik et al., 2021).• Gained an understanding of structural geological concepts and visualized regional-scale tectonic events through detailed outcrop analysis.       • Structural geology, subsurface geophysical studies using ground-penetrating radar (GPR, similar to seismic) and active tectonics-related research issues in the Kachchh Rift Basin (KRB) and other parts of India.• Paleostress studies to understand the kinematic evolutionary history of fault systems, viz.,(i) Vigodi-Gugriana-Khirasra-Netra Fault System (VGKNFS) in the KRB: inferred two deformation events with their dominant stress orientations (Shaikh et al., 2020).(ii) Katar Fault in Saurashtra: inferred stress rotation during post-Deccan Trap compressive phase (Vanik et al., 2018).(iii) Central Nahan Salient in NW Siwalik Himalaya and (iv) Main Boundary Thrust in the western Himalaya: inferred deformation phases and linked to plate-scale tectonic events (Kumar et al., 2022, Goswami et al., 2022).• GPR interpretation to delineate regional-scale buried active fault systems. Key findings include(i) north-dipping normal Kachchh Mainland Fault (KMF) affecting Quaternary deposits with colluvial wedges (Shaikh et al., 2022; Maurya et al., 2022),(ii) changing slip-sense along Vigodi Fault (VF) and Gugriana Fault (GUF) and, reverse reactivation of West Vigodi Fault (WVF) in VGKNFS (Shaikh et al., 2020),(iii) a paleo-valley and three co-seismic surface faulting events along the Katrol Hill Fault (KHF) (Maurya et al., 2021; Tiwari et al., 2021).• Developed expertise in structural interpretation, stress analysis, geophysical data interpretation and understanding the kinematic evolutionary history of fault systems.• Gained experience working in various tectonic settings, including compression, extension and inversion.
