This is done by advocating the use of alternative fuels, encouraging new technologies such as hybrid & electric vehicles, and promoting idle reduction practices for all vehicles.       The mission of Energy Conservation Works (ECW) is to provide leadership, implementation, and education specific to energy conservation, energy sustainability, and energy efficiency.History:ECW started as the Jackson Hole Energy Sustainability Project. It was former World Bank President James Wolfensohn who inspired community leaders to transform Jackson Hole into an innovator of energy conservation and sustainability, utilizing our special landscape to share the message and encourage people towards action.ECW is based on a Memorandum of Understanding between the Town of Jackson, Teton County, and Lower Valley Energy (LVE) with the goal of achieving significant reductions in energy use over the next 20 years in order to keep our utility rates low, and also reduce our carbon footprint.Goals:The goals of ECW, in order to secure and preserve economically feasible energy costs and to sustain/and or reverse the impacts of the built environment on the natural environment, are: To Mitigate 30 megawatts (30%) of the electricity needed to meet Jackson Hole’s future load growth over the next 20 years, in order to keep electricity rates low. To partner with and support the wide array of organizations working on reducing emissions from transportation through reducing fossil fuel use.
