Defectiveness and Final Certification Area Manager at STMicroelectronics

  • Education

    • Liceo Scientifico N. Copernico Brescia

      1989 - 1994
High School Diploma (Maturità scientifica) 60/60
    • Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

      2001 - 2003
PhD, Physics (Dottorato di ricerca in Fisica)

Activities and Societies: At the end of the year 2000, earned a Ph.D. grant from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Brescia in consortium with the Università Statale di Milano and Milano Bicocca. I worked in the group of Prof. Massimo Sancrotti in the field of Physics of Surface, Interfaces and Nanostructures primarily operating in Brescia at the Dipartimento di Matematica e Fisica of the Università Cattolica. Thesis: Micro- and Nano- Structures at Surfaces: a Spectromicroscopy Investigation At the beginning my activity has been devoted to the setting-up and commissioning of an experimental apparatus for morphological and chemical imaging of surfaces at the micro- and nano-scale, on which I started working during the year 2000 with an INFM grant. After that, I was involved in a number of scientific projects in collaboration also with other research groups: from Trieste (INFM-TASC, Prof. M. Sacrotti and ELETTRA, S. Heun), Milano (Università Statale, Prof. P. Milani), Roma… Show more At the beginning my activity has been devoted to the setting-up and commissioning of an experimental apparatus for morphological and chemical imaging of surfaces at the micro- and nano-scale, on which I started working during the year 2000 with an INFM grant. Almost all these projects have the common feature of being spectromicroscopic studies of some micro- or nano-structured interfaces obtained by self-assembling or by template-induced organization at surfaces. In particular, I studied the Ag/Ge(111), K/InAs(110), C/Si(100) and Pentacene/Cu(119) interfaces. My research activity has resulted in a number of publications on physics international journals. Other experiences

While attending university I have worked as waiter and bartender in a pizzeria, I have tutored high school students for math and physics and I have worked as saleswoman in a shoe shop.

    • Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste

      Jan 2000 - Dec 2000
      INFM Grant

After the degree in physics I spent almost one year at the Laboratorio Nazionale TASC (Trieste) with an INFM grant. During this period, I was introduced into the physics of surfaces and interfaces and I experienced some of the experimental techniques most used in this field.

    • Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

      Jan 2001 - Jan 2003
      Teaching Assistant

During my PhD, I worked as Teaching Assistant for some physics classes at the Mathematics and Physics Department of the Universita’ Cattolica in Brescia.

      Visitor researcher
    • STMicroelectronics

      Jan 2004 - Jan 2007
      Defectivity Reduction Engineer

Main accountability was the defectiveness reduction for semiconductor devices in the R&D and industrialization phases.I was mainly engaged in technical activities and data analysis to detect morphological flaws affecting the process and to identify and address their root causes.

    • Numonyx

      Jan 2008 - Oct 2010
      Defectiveness Reduction Team Leader

Main goal was to improve the quality of the manufactured devices by monitoring, keeping under control and reducing the possible failures causes through the coordination of a group of engineers, technicians and on-shifts operators, in defining and deploying procedures and best practices in order to meet the company objectives according to all the drawn deadlines.

    • Micron Technology

      Nov 2010 - May 2013
Defectiveness Manager for Non Volatile Memories Technologies

Main goal was to guarantee execution, efficiency, productivity and equipment functionality for the Defectiveness Control Area by monitoring Area KPIs and driving continuous improvement activities, according to Lean Manufacturing concepts, especially on production cycle time in collaboration with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering teams. The role implied a regular collaboration with external suppliers from different countries in order select new equipment or co-develop new ones to guarantee the compatibility between tool specifications and our needs.
