  Commenced career as a Diploma Engineer Trainee in Jun’95 and later promoted to Engineer in Jul’96 and then to Group Leader (Deputy Mgr.) in Dec’06, Asst. Manager in Jul’08 and finally as Manager in Dec’09.I was responsible as a core team member in formation of cell’s (6 types) in transmission gear cutting shop to reduce the lead-time and also to reduce manpower requirements by considerable quantity. I helped in improving productivity by 5% to 10% on hobbing machines and was instrumental in cycle time calculations & production rate settlements. I had actively worked on TWE (Total Waste Elimination) projects like development & implementation of cone type fixtures on hobbing machines, which considerably reduced PCD run-out errors. I also oversaw the spectrum of production department spanning machine scheduling and manpower handling for effective utilization of manpower, machines & equipment while leading workforce of 150 workmen and 8 assistant engineers.Apart from the above functions, I have shown efficiency in cross-functional teaming to prepare Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans & PFMEA for Automobile Transmission components and also performed Tool Tryouts & CNC programming using G & M codes for CNC gear cutting machines and was involved in Machine Tool Selection, Inspection & Commissioning. I had successfully rendered technical support to vendors to develop automobile Gears & shaft components and involved in activities related to TS-16949. Show less

  Production Manager - Gear Machining

  I am working as a Manager – Machining with Eaton Industrial Systems Pvt. Ltd. and performing Strategic Management functions that includes conceptualizing & implementing systems & operating procedures, supervising production activity & achieving minimum rejection and deploying the resources to optimize yield and achieve production targets within defined time & cost parameters. I also look after Production Operations like managing Machining Department, manufacturing gears & shafts and other Eaton plants with a work force of 50 people. I have fairly contributed in handling industrial relations, conducting regular inspection & tests and effectuating various energy conservation programs to spearhead product development activities.I manage Process Improvement / Value Engineering by analysing various processes / applications, recommending process modifications & equipment calibrations, leading operations/production team, providing guidance for technical troubleshooting of process and ensuring escalation of productivity. I also handle capacity enhancement, cost reduction initiatives, erecting & commissioning the new units and training of staff members on the same.I was also entrusted with the accountability of handling Quality Management functions like monitoring analysis & inspection of the raw material, semi-finished & finished product while reducing rejection level and ensuring strict adherence to minimize scrap generation. Additionally, I am also engaged in Man Management by directing & leading the technical personnel; motivating & appraising their KRA based performance and providing feedback. Another activity that I am dealing with is Customer Relationship Management and is accountable for shipping weekly shipment to customer, achieving OTD performance more than 95%, monitoring & controlling departmental expenses against the profit plan and leading flow line meeting with all the key stakeholders from various departments like safety, quality, stores and lean.
