As per WHO, the heating the drinking water at 55 ⁰C temperature, can potentially kill harmful organisms remains inside it. The present research article focuses onsustaining hot water temperature nearly 55 ⁰C, with incorporation of Phase Change Material (PCM) within the solar water heating system for domestic applications and applications in hospitals. Detailed performance estimation for PCM integrated solar water heater, has been carried out. The melting behaviour of PCM integrated within copper tube in two distinct configurations without fin (case-1) and crossed fin (Case-2) is carried out by CFD analysis. The results show that without fin configuration can meet the thermal requirement of hot water sufficiently during off-sunshine hours and is suggested for implementation. Show less
