Programs in the Prevention & Wellness Directorate include: Onsite Services; Inspection Services; Communicable Disease Surveillance & Control; Infectious Diseases & Outbreaks; Area Vaccines for Children Compliance; Area Vector Control; WIC; Nutrition Services; Social Services; Fetal & Infant Mortality Review; HIV Prevention Program; Community Prevention Programs (e.g. parenting education/home visitation; Fatherhood Initiative; Community-Centered Health Home initiative; Faith-based linkages; Youth Tobacco Prevention Programming). Extensive experience with coalition building (e.g. Teen Pregnancy Prevention Task Force; Women Making a Difference). Program planning; grant writing; public speaking; multi-sector collaboration. Regularly interfaces with governmental officials, general public, community leaders, clients and team members. Integral to the revived interest in the creation of a biking & walking trail along Three Mile Creek. Lead the Women Making a Difference, public health advisory committee, responsible for hosting the first ever Creek Fest to celebrate the history and significance of Three Mile Creek to the community.
