Sponsored annually by the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) this was the 48th competition and was open to professional designers in the US and Canada. The competition honors top designers who display an exceptional level of skill and artistic excellence in designing residential kitchen, bath and interior spaces. This year the competition featured 5 kitchen and five bath categories which included a new "Budget Friendly" category won by Pensacola designer Katheryn W. Cowles, CKD,CBD. Katheryn was in Chicago to receive her first place award and attend the opening of the Design Competition Pavilion that showcases photographs of the 10 first place winning designs on a nine foot high wall. A highlight of KBIS, the Pavilions showcased designs establish trends and are a preview of what you will be seeing in kitchen and bath designs.
