Research on Thermal and Residual Stress Analysis of Welded Joints in Cladded Pipes. This addresses the welding of two dissimilar materials as well as uncover the peculiarities and trends that there are in the thermal responses from the welded joints. Welding in cylindrical structures has remained a source of concern due to its complexity; not to mention welding of two dissimilar metals. In this research; welding was carried out in house with the aid of high temperature thermocouples positioned at strategic points in order to obtain the transient thermal responses so as to enable deeper understanding of thermal loading associated with the welding of the two dissimilar metals, hence advancing the performance of pipelines in service. To carry out the above research, 2D and 3D FE models were developed using Abaqus Finite Element Analysis Software. Temperature response curves from the FE simulations were compared with the measured transient temperatures in order to ascertain the match between the two, thereby validating the FE model.Finite Element Analysis Using ABAQUSWelding in Cladded Pipelines and Plates having varying clad thicknessesNarrow Gap Weld TechnologyArch Weld Technology - TIGMechanical tests Microstructure analysis with respect to SEM, XRD, EBSD and EDAXOffshore Artic Pipeline Engineering: Safe Design, Installation and Operation of subsea pipelinesWellhead and Casing Assessment and Integrity Management: Criticality of the problem, Design of Wellheads, Fatigue Assessment: Loads on Wellheads from a global model of drilling riser, wellhead casing, and soils and detailed fatigue assessment of wellhead Show less
