    • Vertu

      Jul 2009 - Jan 2011
      Online Delivery Manager

Vertu is Nokia’s luxury phone division based on a purpose-made site in Hampshire, where all of the manufacturing, software development, sales & logistics takes place. Although the product divides opinion, it is the leading luxury mobile globally and is a real UK & manufacturing success story – I was immensely proud to have been part of this during the change to smartphone technology. My initial brief was to deploy Vertu’s first e-commerce service. Working with a Nokia colleague, Juha Nurminen, we scoped the e-commerce service end-to-end, integrated a third-party online store provider (which included enhancing their back-office capability), integrated incoming orders to the Nokia SAP and logistics systems, as well as developing sound reverse logistics processes. This was deployed to the UK and Germany in July 2010, after which we provided options for extending this service globally before handing over the operational control to another colleague. After a short piece of work evaluating issues with a programme of work deploying a new ePoS system, I got involved in the delivery of several workstreams providing customer-facing functions over the internet to Vertu’s new QWERTY phone. This entailed close collaboration with the software development teams, third-party providers, network engineers and the programme test teams, not to mention marketing and the senior stakeholders to board-level. Again, this was delivered successfully to plan. Show less

It has involved technical and business teams across the UK, Spain and Israel - and is starting to touch on global releases in other countries.Previously delivered several projects to build a self-service model based on Salesforce to support Business customers across a number of channels, including corporates. The role encompassed projects to deliver an SSO solution and to migrate customers & users from the legacy CRM system in readiness for decommission, and also involved integration to back-end services to automate the self-service journeys. All of the usual corporate challenges applied, in addition to the business constraints imposed by the changing economic climate. Show less

    • Mombee

      Nov 2015 - Aug 2020
      Founder

Mombee Snowboards was a great initiative that pulled together a multitude of skillsets that played to the best of my abilities... innovation, creativity, woodwork, design, new materials, art, project management, strategy, etc, etc. Everything was aligning well and we were gearing up for some substantial investment.. then the UK voted for Brexit, and it was clear that this was going to devastate the ability for any company reliant on the EU market to trade competitively & effectively. We tried to hold on to a belief that building a new snowboard company in the UK could be worthy of investment, but unfortunately the risk has proved too great... forward fast to the present day and you'll witness the staggering issues that established companies are now facing that are driving them out of business. We hope that this absurd situation can be reversed and Mombee snowboards can rise again, but for now we'll just enoy the snow whenever we can.Just for the record:o The Mombee prototypes survived multiple trips to the Alps and a summer at Gloucester dry slope (freestyle sessions).o We imported materials from suppliers in Austria, America, China and Sweden.o We invested in local CNC suppliers for cutting bases and using large-scale digital printers.o We invested in a vacuum press and heat mats.o We had loads of interest from anyone who saw the boards in the flesh... even being flagged down on the slopes in France by instructors asking about them.www.facebook.com/mombeeUK/ Show less
