  Stay at Home Dad / Freelance Architect

  After the economic crash of 2008, I was afforded the opportunity to stay at home with our seven children while my wife went to work full-time in the retail sector. During this time I was able to do some freelance architecture and lay the foundation for starting FiELD9: architecture.

  At FiELD9: architecture we recognize the harm done to the environment, our communities, our health, and our quality of life by the buildings we occupy. The construction industry is responsible for 40% of all carbon emissions which lead to climate change. Current standards of construction utilize methods and materials that are destroying the planet and ruining our health.We design buildings that reduce emissions and energy consumption up to 80% by using innovative materials and methods that are durable, efficient, and benefit the environment.   Along with my wife Amanda, we own and operate GrowFourth Urban Farm on 1/2 acre in Downtown Mansfield, OHio. GrowFourth is a founding member of the Richland Gro-Op and part of the Ohio State University Mansfield Microfarm Project. Together we are working to solve food insecurity by establishing the viability of urban farming as an economic opportunity for low opportunity residents in and around Mansfield.
