      Master’s Degree Educational/Instructional Technology 4.0

The ITEC (Instructional Technology Education) program has been a wonderful adventure! Starting in the Spring of 2015 I began implementing more Web 2.0 tools in the classroom and involving my students with technology more than ever. I am looking forward to moving into my fifth grade classroom at Arcado Elementary School to begin implementing PBL (Project Based Learning) STEAM (Science,Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) lessons. I am looking forward to moving into my fifth grade classroom at Arcado Elementary School to begin implementing PBL (Project Based Learning) STEAM (Science,Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) lessons. The sky is the limit for my future group of fifth grade geniuses! This is a two year program, so I will be graduating in the Fall of 2016. Certified Early Childhood Education Teacher with ESOL endorsement

I am qualified to teach both regular education students and ESOL. Recently, I embarked upon a teaching excursion of my life. I taught Chinese students English in the 2nd grade and 7th grade in Chengdu, China. My best accomplishments teaching have been engaging the students with creative activities to learn a new concept. For example, my Georgia State University cohort hosted a Family Literacy Night at a local diverse elementary school. I created a sequencing station for students to recall the order in which a story took place. This promotes reader's comprehension. There were plastic placards of pictures from the story the students heard. They would take turns ordering the pictures into the right order. I am currently seeking a teaching position in the Northeast Atlanta area in an elementary school or private school. I prefer 1-4 grades. I am certified P-K through grade 5. Show less

5th Grade Teacher with ESOL endorsement

I absolutely love teaching my 5th grade students day in and out. I challenge them with cutting edge engaging activities that meet the modern Common Core Curriculum Standards which Gwinnett County had recently switched to from the GPS AKS curriculum. I have a true passion for teaching in many different learning styles. I try to reach all students through kinetic, music, audio, visual, tactic, etc. My goal is to strive to reach every student in my classroom through a variety of techniques. I recently taught a very special 5th grade class that was built with mostly EIP and ESOL students. I was elated to see some of my students that just started speaking English this past year pass the Reading and Math portions of the CRCT! I truly get excited about learning new things, and I believe that carries over into my classroom. Additionally, I build a classroom environment around the principle of respect. If I don't respect my students first, then they won't respect me. I LOVE teaching 5th grade!!! Show less

      ELL teacher

I have the privilege of working with small groups of ELLs. Collaboration and planning are essential stepping stones to the engaging and productive lessons we have in our classroom. I have enjoyed working with these children to boost their interest in learning the English language through reading and writing. Additionally, I am responsible for entering and maintaining data on all of the ELL students through the county's online system (SASI). Reading comprehension is an area that I perform strongly in because of my extensive training through Georgia State University. We have many creative avenues to engage the children into reading for meaning and for fun! Show less

Fifth Grade Science & Math Teacher

As a 21st century Science & Math cluster teacher, I am responsible for assuring every student in my class exceeds all expectations to attain a quality, hands-on education which takes place both in and outside of the classroom. Technology is a huge part of learning in Gwinnett County Public Schools, so students will perform homework in a flipped classroom environment.
