  Electrical technician

  This was my first job in the power industry and for a student in his last year at the university, it was a great opportunity to gain a lot of practical experience. The main activities were related to measurement of the main parameters in hydropower plants and efficiency optimization. I can say that this is the job that beside the technical skills, helped me to better organize my time and to improve my focus, as I had to go through the final year doing a full time job.

  ISPH is the oldest and most prestigious hydropower design company in Romania. Working in this company as a young graduate engineer gave me the opportunity to get involved in a very divers and challenging environment, with activities ranging from pre-feasibility studies to complex detailed designs.Throughout the years, as part of the Electromechanical Equipment Dept. I have been involved in over 30 feasibility studies (being in charge of determining the best layout and equipment configuration), contributed to the detailed design of two under construction power plants and performed commissioning of various equipment (shafts, turbines, gates and valves). Moving from an engineering environment to business development gave me the possibility to see beyond the technical aspects of a project and understand the economics and the rationales that an investment require. Scouting the market for originating new opportunities, coordination of Due Diligence process, Development Agreements and Share Purchase Agreements negotiation, complemented my engineering skills and allowed me to grow as a professional.
