  • Experience

    • Eastern kentucky university

      Jan 1994 - Jan 1998
      Assistant professor of english

I was a tenure-track Assistant Professor until four external colleagues caught a senior EKU colleague Andrew Harnack plagiarizing my work, as well as the work of Janice Walker. Unfortunately, Harnack not only sat on my tenure and review committee, but was the author of the plagiarism policy of EKU, and managed to get his plagiarism of Walker published in the 1997 edition of intellectual property and plagiarism expert Professor Andrea Lundsford's (Ohio State U.; Stanford U) extremely lucrative _St. Martin's English Handbook_ . The consequences for trying to make this visible were death threats against myself and my family, and blackmail attempts, an attempt to fire me, and continued harassment even after I moved laterally to another institution. I learned further from former EKU colleague David Elias that Harnack had been caught plagiarizing 15 years earlier and was given the task of rewriting the plagiarism guidelines as punishment.
