      The Assistant Vice President for Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement provides innovative leadership as part of the leadership team for the Division of Diversity and Innovative Community Engagement. The role of the Assistant Vice President is to create a diverse educational community and drive a culture of inclusion and belonging characterized by diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for all people through guidance and training to faculty, staff, and students. This important role will also lead collaborative efforts to ensure equity and inclusion are valued and integrated into university policies, practices, and culture through a social justice lens. This role actively participates in the implementation of the Division’s strategic plan, partners with others to assess and monitor progress toward attaining strategic goals and objectives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and designs and implements programs and processes to further those goals. The AVP will work to maintain strong collaborative working relationships among administration, faculty, staff, students, and external constituents; and serves as a team builder. This position also represents the Division by engaging with community, regional, and state partners on matters related to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
