      Whilst working at The Parks Trust I gained valuable experience and knowledge of the organisation andgained appreciated experience within a different sector of the events company.My role included; arranging food and beverage stalls at festivals, ordering supplies and audio-visual equipment for outdoor events, administrative role on the lead up to the event, risk assessments, ensuring appropriate brand execution to meet brand standards, create briefings and debriefs for all event activation, solely managing and running children events, site visits, worked with design teams to create posters and leaflets for various POS, planned and designed event layouts, liaised and collaborated with the product and marketing team to agree logistics, proposed new ideas to improve the event planning and implementation process. I also managed on-site production including; managing staffing, clean up and break down of events, sourced acts for cultural and children events and managed relationships and communication with vendors on all event related matters.       After University, I applied for the Events & Community Engagement Officer role within The Parks Trust. With all I had learnt over the previous summer, I couldn’t wait to get started. As well as the key responsibilities from my previous role, I also had more responsibility. The Parks Trust plan the majority of their events from scratch. Their ideas and visions become realityin a matter of months.This role also included; organising, managing and executing all aspects of events (including; Staging, PA’s, Audio Visuals, Generators, Waste Management, Toilets etc.), controlled and managed an allocation budget in excess of £80,000, assisted the Volunteer Co-Ordinator in organising volunteers for events and external third-party events, ran meetings involving 20+ people including managing calendars/diaries and meeting locations and transport, assisted in the creation of databases for volunteer information complying with GDPR, assisted in the build and design of a full new website, plus trained other members and volunteers in how to use and upload content, assisted the creation and execution of the social media strategy across 4 different social media platforms, worked alongside other local charities to fundraise for them whilst helping to raise awareness of The Parks Trust objectives, conceptualised ideas to create diverse activities and events to help boost attendees experience.What I brought to the role:• In my first year, I proved increased ticket sales for our events. For example, Spooky Halloween Walks; I increased ticket sales from across 3 months to 3 days. • Expanded the event volunteers from 150 to 210 in 1 year through volunteer workshops, training opportunities and volunteer recruitment evenings.       Whilst working for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, my role included; delivering public engagement across Bedfordshire that met the needs of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), ensured compliance with statutory consultation duties, created presentations, including; analytical data and relevant DMTS information, maintained communication between the office and key stakeholders, managed and maintained a database of key contacts and stakeholders, created and distributed monthly newsletters to the public, solely managed the events budget, managed the OPCC social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram), reached out to the vast amount of communities in Bedfordshire and get them to engage with the office whilst developing and maintaining positive relationships with a wide range of community representatives to enable the OPCC to be aware of emerging community issues, ran and managed the Bedfordshire Youth Council Instagram page, used creative writing to create accurate and effective pieces, written in plain English, to be used for different audiences and different channels, including press releases and statements, updated the OPCC website and used digital communications in recognition of the prominence of online and social media channels by creating visual aids as part of a recruitment marketing campaign.What I gained from the role: • Building and maintaining constructive working relationships with colleagues at all levels and key stakeholders including the public and our partner agencies. • The ability to work with detailed information and produce accurate and well-presented events, engagements and communications.       My experience of working for Mitsubishi Electric has been amazing. We plan, manage and/or run 280 events a year. My role includes; all aspects of event planning in line with a £1m+ budget, taking and collating information for initial proposed events from sales staff, creating event forms, check details of proposed events and obtain approval as required, challenge as appropriate & apply best practice with regards to cost, value and/or compliance for all events, arrange travel & accommodation for all attendees, procure event merchandise as required, create event packs & name badges, etc., create confirmation itineraries, arrange contracts with ticketing companies, delegate queries to the relevant departments, collate all legal documentation: contracts, disclaimers, insurance, terms and conditions, attend and run events when required, accurate & timely post event reporting including cost comparison analysis, maintain the main events inbox and diary, keep accurate records and maintaining internal systems for all events, develop internal and external relationships in order to achieve best practice and service and understand and comply with all relevant company policies.
