This entailed shadowing physiotherapist on the cardiac, respiratory and post-operation wards, where I gained an insight into the procedures and exercises that patients carry out after heart attacks, strokes and operations.

  I worked with the first team and reserve players at training sessions and match days, providing pre and post sports massage, injury assessments, designing rehabilitation programmes, whilst incorporating peripheral and vertebral mobilisations, cryotherapy and functional movement screening.

  I worked in the student Sports Therapy clinic at Staffordshire University on a weekly basis where outside clients and athletes would come in. I provided sports massage, initial injury assessments/follow up appointments, rehabilitation programmes, peripheral and vertebral mobilisations, functional movement screening, postural assessments, cryotherapy (game ready). I attended a 55-mile charity cycling event in Burslem in aid of Cystic Fibrosis with a number of students from Staffordshire University. This consisted of providing the athletes with post event sports massage and giving advice of any enquires or questions they had regarding injuries or health and wellbeing.
