Nine associations were identified in three out of eight ZAM-Health Project supported districts: Lusaka, Kabwe Ndola and Kitwe.The main objective of the consultancy was to assess the capacity of Nine Private Healthcare Associations in areas of Governance, Organization, Finance and Human Resources Management.   In order to contribute to its social inclusion agenda, People in Need has embarked on a project called ‘’Lusaka Urban Biogas Initiative’’ aimed at addressing the following development and environmental problems of urban spaces in Lusaka, Zambia: 1) poor organic waste management coupled with increased population growth and urbanization, 2) lack of access to renewable and clean energy for urban populations and 3) reliance on chemical fertilizers. I conducted research, key informant interviews with 40 marketeers interviewed, and stakeholders’ management such as the Lusaka City Council, Tandem Circular Economy, and Kanyama Water Trust, developed a Business Plan and Financial Model to be used to finance the building of a biogas plant at Soweto Market to be financed by the Green Climate Fund. This project is aimed at benefiting more than 300 marketeers and providing more than 20 direct jobs. Show less
