  Perform and interpret highly complex clinical diagnostic tests in all areas of the general laboratory including: hematology, chemistry, molecular, microbiology, body fluids, urinalysis, semen analysis and blood bank. Report my findings to health care providers. Correlate clinical history with abnormal findings and consult technical specialists when unexpected abnormalities are found. Consult with pathologists when unexpected malignancies are suspected and when deviations from standard operating procedures are necessary. Perform maintenance, calibrations and quality control on all instruments and analyzers in the laboratory. Troubleshoot failed quality control or errors in instrumentation. Perform proficiency testing and continuing education regularly and operate with strict compliance to regulatory as well as standard operating procedures. Perform monthly quality control review including investigation and troubleshooting of imprecision and trends detected using statistical data. Show less
