As President of Soul on Soul, responsibilities include identifying and securing funding for production as well as project development and execution.Manage finance, accounting, projects, and contracts for music and film Production Company.▪ Worked directly with NBA, Nike, BET, REVOLT, UNSUNG, CNN, NY1 and MTV to develop and promote charitable fundraisers and sponsored community outreach programs. ▪ Developed key relationships and conducted commerce negotiations with major record labels, including MCA/Universal, Sony, Columbia, Uptown, Electra, Arista, RocaFella, Bad Boy, and J Records.• Responsible for all accounting records including check registers, accounting books and taxes. • Created recording budgets based on financial forecasting, and ensured payment of all fees associated with production expenses: studio invoices, guest artists, background vocalists, engineers and producers.• Administered all aspects of recording and production agreements with artists including negotiating recording contracts; artist contracts; attorneys and record companies as well as acting as liaison between record companies, artists, producers and music publishing companies. • Responsible for determining and recording, publishing splits for all material recorded through the company and prepared company financial reports.• Developed and promoted charitable fundraisers and sponsored community outreach programs. Charged with program development and advertising with complete oversight of park upgrades and renovations, including contract negotiations, plan specifications, purchasing options and compliance. • Directed administrative and ancillary location staff of 70 (over 200 staff members during the summer season) in providing municipal social, recreational, and educational activities. • Oversaw departmental purchases and payroll as well as budgeting and recordkeeping of annual appropriations in excess of $3.5M.• Secured Federal and State governmental contracts and ensured departmental compliance with local and state bidding requirements in the procurement of goods and services. • Ensured additional funding through fundraising and grant allocations and ensured safety/security of the public.• Improved employee morale and overall staff performance by establishing an open door policy for employees and the public.• Managed municipal recreational facilities valued in excess of $500 million including swimming pools, basketball courts, fitness centers, art and dance studios, and game room facilities.• Negotiated local, county and state government funding. Spearhead a comprehensive plan to enhance recreation, parks, and senior citizen programs and service to residents of all ages. Developed and marketed programs. Shaped and administered operations plans and general management plans. Managed $500M in facilities, including upgrades, renovations, contract negotiation, purchasing, contractors, and compliance. Directed staff of 95 FTE and 150+ seasonal employees. Oversaw production of programs, including plays, concerts, film festivals, dance recitals, and music recitals. Negotiated local, county, and state government funding. Prepared and controlled annual $2.5M operating budget and capital project budget.
