      During my internship I was tasked with the truly amazing opportunity to design, develop and resource a touch-trolley to be used for the Memorial’s public programming, with a particular consideration for its potential use in access programs for children and families. My Key accountabilities included: - Contributing to interpretation and audience engagement including program preparation, development and creation of supportive interpretative documentation for staff.- Conduct research for potential interpretive content.- Collect, collate and interpret data on audience- Assist in the management of the Anzac Memorial’s education collection including the documentation, cataloguing and research of objects.- Worked collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop a new public program.- Consider the implications of immediate and longer-term objectives (cost, sustainability, use, materials etc.) of a mobile touch trolley as part of public program initiative for volunteers.       - Assist in the relocation of the MAAS collection from its current location in storage and display in Ultimo into long term storage, and to the brand-new museum at Parramatta and Ultimo presence. - Support the relocation of non-collection items including, but not limited to, MAAS Library and Image Library, Institutional Archives, and non-collection support material.- Successfully contributed to relocation of over 100,000 objects out of 338,000 into long-term storage at the Museums Discovery Centre.- Ensure statutory and legislative requirements are adhered to and effective risk management procedures are in place.- Adhere to a high level of collection management practice and procedures.- Develop, update and review new workflows and procedures to help guide and direct new or current staff members, including the creation and development of new SWMSs, SOPs and Movement Plans. - Maintain clear communication within the team and across all MAAS departments.- Physically prepare objects for transportation by adhering to strict object handling practices, careful planning, and risk mitigation and assessment.- Transporting objects to their new long-term storage destination, between sites, or off-site locations, utilising MAAS collection of vehicles including a small truck. Show less - Assist the Manager and Registrars with relevant operational planning processes and policydevelopment and contribute to the implementation of the Museum’s strategic plan.- Build and maintain close external stakeholder relationships in consultation with the Manager and Registrars , including museums and galleries, government departments and other organisations to advocate for MAAS, to develop business networks and to build awareness of the MAAS programs.- Assist with the implementation of the Museum's collection and collection-based informationsystems according to professional museum standards, and NSW regulatory requirements,including, but not limited to, collection management, documentation and cataloguing,processing, access, acquisitions and de-accessions, inward and outward loans, storage,movement and transport of objects, and creating and maintaining records for these.- Ensure statutory and legislative requirements are adhered to and effective risk managementprocedures are in place.- Ensure adherence to a high level of collection management practice and procedures and aculture of optimal external and internal customer service.- Assist with ensuring the safety, security, location control and maintenance of objects ondisplay and on storage. Show less - Provide support to curatorial projects initiated within the department. - Gathering and analysing historical and scholarly texts, visual and object location information, and budgetary data, compiled in order to initiate and implement exhibitions.- Currently contributing to the Curatorial Documentation Project, which includes research to determine the social, historical, and cultural value of 400 recently digitised objects, as well as writing statements of significance and social media comms. - Engage with artists, artists’ estates, copyright holders, collectors, auction houses, dealers, and colleagues in museums and galleries across Australia and internationally to update information on the Powerhouse Museum’s digital archive.
