  Building on the skills from my two prior semesters at The Alligator, I earned the opportunity to cover the Florida Gators 2023 baseball season. While I unfortunately had to relinquish the beat prior to the playoffs to return to Alpine, Texas, for my third season with the Cowboys, I relished the opportunity to cover my favorite sport at such a high level. My editors challenged me to think outside the box on story ideas and worked with me into improve my writing style with every story. Produce game recaps and feature articles on the Gators volleyball team. As was my situation covering Gators swim and track earlier in 2022, volleyball was an entirely new sport to me. A benefit to this beat was covering more home games than my earlier position, which allowed me to build relationships with players and coaches as well as my interviewing skills. Produced game recaps and feature stories of two UF teams that do not normally receive a large amount of coverage. This beat proved to be a challenge for me as I had not previously covered swim or track. I embraced the task of learning the nuances of both sports so I could better tell their stories.

  - Provided play-by-play and color commentary for the Alpine Cowboys professional baseball club on Alpine’s hometown radio station KVLF 1240AM/98.7 FM. Conducted over 150 broadcasts total during the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Pecos League seasons.- Operated Pointstreak software to keep game statistics for the Pecos League website and helped oversee the Meridix live stream, which simulcast with KVLF.- Created graphics on Adobe Photoshop, produced creative video content on Adobe Premiere Pro, began the team’s first podcast on Apple and Spotify, and helped run the team’s Facebook and Instagram pages. - Took hold of an opportunity to become the voice of a professional baseball team that the community could rely on.   After mock-broadcasting Florida Gators sporting events for three semesters in the College of Journalism’s play-by-play class, I established the Orange & Blue Sports Network to provide a brand, outlet and functioning live stream for student-run play-by-play and podcasting at UF.- Secured $3,500 in funding from the UF College of Journalism & Communications to fund equipment and travel initiatives for 2024-25 school year, signaling cultural shift in student play-by-play within the college. - Awarded rights contract to broadcast all home games for UF Club Hockey. Responsible for all production elements. - Provided 45+ students with opportunity to gain first-hand experience in live play-by-play, color and broadcast production.- Launched a 500+ subscriber YouTube page to house broadcast archive and live stream, podcast network on both Apple and Spotify, as well as Instagram and Twitter social media pages to promote our broadcasts and student talent. - Designed network logo in Adobe Photoshop, edited broadcasts in Adobe Audition and created play-by-play highlights in Adobe Premiere Pro and Headliner to post on social media accounts.- Sports Covered: Florida Gators football, baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, track/field, swim/dive, club hockey; high school football and baseball; as well as several Major League Baseball Spring Training games.   Alongside 11 other dedicated UF sports media students, began The Sports Lab, a brand-new student-hosted/produced radio program on ESPN Gainesville WRUF. Program airs bi-weekly, Monday/Friday from 2-4pm and features sports debate, creative segments and interviews with Gator athletes past and present.
