While the causes of crashes are well-documented, post-crash dynamics remain less documented. I investigated post-crash management responses and their impact. My investigation extended to effects on beta, equity costs, and investor attention to non-crashed peer firms. Findings revealed management's efforts to rebuild investor trust through enhanced transparency, investment efficiency, reduced conflicts, and ESG investment. Beta increased following crashes, making equity financing more expensive. I also found return co-movement between the non-crashed peer firms and the market. Show less
