  Worked closely with county detention facility administrators and staff to define and document business processes around offender intake, processing, holding, and release. The end goal was to bring Montana counties on to the state's offender management system so current and accurate offender information can be shared between counties and the state.

  I manage the IT help desk and records management sections and serve on the Montana Department of Transportation’s 4-person IT management team, which sets IT strategic direction for the department as well as managing the approximately $18 million annual IT budget and allocation of 60 IT staff to ongoing initiatives. I helped put in place an IT governance process to better manage our IT portfolio and improve our interaction and communication with our internal customers. I also manage the IT support help desk staff and processes to ensure timely and accurate resolution to customer requests, utilizing ServiceNow as a customer service platform.As the department’s Certified Information Security Manager, I have developed IT and security policies compliant with NIST SP 800-53, as well as successful security vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access management programs. I work closely with the CIO, technical operations manager, and PMO manager to ensure security is part of all IT processes, and work with the business owners to make sure they and their staff understand the importance of security procedures and cyber hygiene. Also, as part of our security risk management program, vendor IT contracts are vetted through a thorough security review to ensure they meet state technical and data security requirements. At an operations level, I lead the vulnerability management team consisting of development and operations staff, who are responsible for analyzing vulnerabilities as they pertain to our environment, categorizing and prioritizing applicable vulnerabilities, determining disposition methods, taking appropriate action, and documenting the results. This team meets weekly and is constantly reviewing threat and vulnerability sources.I also manage smaller, one-off projects for the CIO. Show less
