    • REI

      Sept 2013 - Apr 2015
Bike Tech/ Cycling & Paddling Sales Associate

After graduating from college I worked at REI to support myself while beginning to learn more about my newly chosen career path in digital photography. My time at REI helped me develop my interpersonal skills as I interacted with customers constantly on the job. I began as a bike and paddling sales associate and was later trained as a bike mechanic under three of the most knowledgeable cyclists in town. I was fortunate to have been selected to travel to a new store and participate in new employee training sessions. After close to two years I decided it was in my best interest to enroll in photography school before I blew all of my earnings on fancy bikes and camping gear. Show less

      Photography Instructor

I led two 10-week virtual classes for photography students at The Creative Circus covering the fundamentals of Capture One digital imaging software. Students were instructed on best practices, workflows, and the capabilities and limitations of the software. I developed the curriculum to provide a well-paced overview of the software that built on previous instruction and concluded each section with a technical assignment, allowing students to select a subject of interest to put their new skills to practice. • Case•Mate

      Jun 2020 - Jun 2021
      Product Photographer

I produced thousands of product images for direct sales and several large international retailers. My responsibilities included product tracking, photography, retouching, and management of an image database. During my time at Case-Mate I developed Photoshop actions to automate image sizing and file formatting per each client's specifications. These actions saved the company time and money while improving image consistency. After collecting feedback from several teams, I designed a new lighting set to better highlight certain product features while still looking consistent with images from previous years. Collaborating with a talented graphic design team, product designers, and engineering coworkers was especially rewarding. I was often challenged to determine how to photograph products in a way that would meet the needs of multiple teams due to a rapid production cycle. Show less
