      Worked as a volunteer activist fighting for asylum seekers rights. Joining Lift the ban campaign. I was part of a team that worked with Councillor Lesley Storey, Cabinet Member for Vibrant City at Newcastle City Council, to take forward a motion on defending the right to seek safety. Cllr Storey included a powerful statement from me in her speech, after which the motion was passed unanimously.I have delivered presentations both in-person and remotely on multiple occasions, including the 2022 WERS AGM and the Amnesty International Northern Conference 2023.I have given interviews to journalists at the Chronicle and Analyst News to raise awareness of key issues in our campaigning work.Jennifer Laws (Asylum Matters North East Campaigns Manager) is a reference for that.
