  As the marketing and administrative coordinator, my duties are varied. I help with the everyday administrative tasks of the office including fielding phone calls and clients coming into the office and making sure they are taken care of. I am responsible for creating social media content, tracking engagement, and copy-editing on advertisements. As part of a very small marketing team, I help to plan our marketing strategy and implement plans. I assist the owners in special projects and have been in charge of several projects of reorganization and restructuring in the office during my tenure. I was in charge of organizing and overseeing our office “Travel Trade Show” this past fall with 500 people in attendance and over 30 vendors from the travel industry. In my role as Travel Agent, I quote and book travel for my clients and take care of every aspect of their trip. Researching the different locations and resorts, so that I can give an expert recommendation, is a favorite part of mine. I love the interpersonal aspect of this job, and thrive when I am interacting with clients or other employees. Having been in the service and hospitality industry for 10+ years, I truly enjoy serving people and anticipating the needs of those around me, and I look forward to continuing this attitude in my future endeavors.   As I had been with Chrysalis Not For Profit for 6 months+ as the Social Media Manager, and as I had gained new skills, my position growing and adapting to my strengths, we felt the need to redefine my role.As the Digital Media & Content Manager, I was still overseeing all of our social media channels, but additionally helping to make marketing strategy decisions with quarterly meetings with our marketing company. I was responsible for social media content creation, planning, and implementation. I was also responsible for digital content creation for our website and student learning platforms. I worked with an outside production company to produce video adverts and educational content for our courses. During this project, I spent considerable time proofreading and editing educational content. I spent time recording, producing, participating in, and editing podcast content for the Chrysalis Podcast. Additionally in this role, I worked with outside web developers to design and execute changes to our main website and our prospectus website. This included sourcing and editing photos, copywriting and copy-editing, and designing layouts for both sites, all within the confines of our Style Guide. I did considerable work with our outside marketing team to fine tune SEO and keywords across our website pages, and learned a lot about this topic.I love that this position allowed for growth in my skills while also playing to my strengths.   As I had been with Chrysalis Not For Profit for the first 6 months as the Social Media Manager, and as I gained new skills, my position grew and adapted to my strengths. As the Digital Media & Content Manager, I oversaw all of our social media channels, but I also handled all of our video content for social media, our website, and even some for our course content. I produced our company podcast, published our online magazine, and liaised with tutors and guest hosts for our webinar series for students. I love that this position allowed for growth in my skills while also playing to my strengths.I gained valuable experience in project management, working to coordinate outside marketing and creative teams to produce new, effective digital content with compelling storytelling that was effective at furthering our organisational goals. Working on development of the website and new supporting websites was a welcome challenge and one in which I learned a lot about working with outside stakeholders.
