      Assigned to Task Force Guardian (TFG) whose mission was to rehabilitate the New Orleans Metropolitan Area hurricane and flood protection system, which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Served as PM and worked for Chief of PPPMD. Responsible for overall management, control, coordination and execution of assigned projects. As a team leader, implemented corporate decisions guidance, laws, regulations and policy in development of the projects and intermediate products in support of the project. Negotiated and integrated all TFG functions (i.e., planning, design, cost engineering, construction, real estate, contracting, etc.), sponsor/customer needs and other agencies' commitments in support of assigned projects into a comprehensive management plan. Within this plan, integrated Executive/Congressional schedules and criteria and established project scope and criteria, schedules and milestones, budgets, dependencies, responsibilities of participating parties, assumptions and risks, contingencies, performance measurement criteria. Controlled and managed milestones and budgets from planning through construction. Reviewed progress, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain schedules, budgets, and quantity problems, and ensured proper resolution of issues raised. Represented the TFG Commander and served as primary POC with sponsor/customer, Federal, state, local government agencies, Congressional interests, and other external organizations. Supervised a work group assigned to complete all tasks associated with respective projects. Performed a variety of personnel management functions for members of assigned project delivery team. Starting June 1, 2006, assigned to Hurricane Protection Office as Senior PM for Permanent Pumping Stations at Orleans Outfall Canals. Duties continued as stated above for the development of a $520,000,000 project to place pumping stations at confluence of three Outfall Canals and Lake Pontchartrain. Show less Assigned to Task Force Unwatering (TFU) whose mission was to unwater the New Orleans Metropolitan Area hurricane and flood protection system which was flooded and devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Served as Project Manager for Task Force Unwatering (TFU): New Orleans East Bank Basin and Initial Permanent and Portable Pumping Operations. Reported directly to Colonel assigned as Commander of TFU. Responsible for the overall management, control, coordination and execution of pump operations in the New Orleans East Bank Basin (OEB) and overall repair operations after closure of Outfall Canals. As a team leader, implemented decisions, provided guidance and set pumping and water control policy during OEB unwatering operations. Negotiated and integrated all TFU functions (i.e., planning design, cost engineering, construction, real estate, contracting, etc.), sponsor/customer needs and other agencies' commitments in support of assigned projects into a comprehensive management plan.       Conduct dam safety inspections of hydroelectric power projects, which include power plants, associated dams and embankments, appurtenant structures and project grounds. Identify dam safety, public safety, environmental, engineering and operational issues and deficiencies during dam safety inspections and engineering reviews. Both damaged sites are located on the Columbia Canal, which is within the city limits and near the confluence of the Saluda and Broad Rivers.
