(ITS) Responsibilities as a Petroleum Cargo Surveyor are as follows: Analysis of the petroleum cargo delivery loss and gain, specifically in the analysis of the loss/gain variation on shore to shore, vessel to shore, and in-transit variance comparison. Shore tank gauging with terminal/depot/shore personnel to calculate present and discharged/received petroleum cargo volume. Vessel tank initial-final gauging with vessel chief-officer to calculate present and received/discharged petroleum cargo volume. Calculates petroleum cargo volume before and after cargo discharging from vessel to shore disport and or cargo loading from shore load port to vessel considering vessel draft correction, temperature corrections, trim corrections, and shore-vessel calibration tables. Checks and validates the correctness of the recoded data reflected in the delivery documents. Reports real time operation procedures, emergency situations, and operation developments to immediate supervisor for proper monitoring of operation of head office. Serves as a safety officer of a ship-to-ship petroleum cargo transfer operation that ensures all safety procedures in the safety checklist be met during the whole duration of the operation. Conducts power plant lube oil, diesel oil, and fuel oil tank monthly inventories through manual product sounding by utilizing sounding tape for measuring product level, thermometer for observed temperature, and hydrometer for observed product specific gravity with tank calibration tables for calculation of observed product volume. Checks and reports on-board bunker fuel quantity of petroleum cargo vessel during the end of sea passage for on-hire/off-hire of vessel inspected.
