Community Living Assistant (CLA) for Capability-Scotland www.capability-scotland.org.ukI supported adults with learning disabilities and co-morbid mental health problems to live in the community. The nature of my work was to de-institutionalise individuals who have spent much of their lives in long stay hospitals, and are now adapting to living in the community. Working in the challenging behaviour unit, I did my utmost to empower the individuals I worked with, and to promote independence. Show less

      Apr 2021 - now
      Therapist

My aim is to support people and animals to move out of pain and into postural alignment, to ease restrictions, promote relaxation, and improve quality of Life. I started this EMMETT journey out of love for my own dogs, to ease stiffness for our elderly dog, and provide relaxation for our rescue dog. From learning and volunteering my time, my passion grew to where I am now… to being the first person in Scotland to qualify to the highest level as a practitioner for horses & dogs, and also a practitioner for people too..As you are reading this… you may be aware of tension in the shoulders/neck, lower back pain, feelings of sciatica, headaches/migraines… our animals can experience similar discomforts too! So, I love that I am able to support both dog and their human companion, horse and rider, to feel more balanced, relaxed, and in harmony together..For people: I have joined my Mum (Linda) & Sister (Emma) offering tailored sessions at Aberdeen Bowen Therapy based at our family wellness space, the Urban Wellness Hub, in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.Find us on Facebook: www.FB.com/aberdeenbowenTo book online: https://AberdeenBowen.as.meTo find out more: www.AberdeenBowen.co.uk.For animals: I am offering Essentially EMMETT sessions for dogs outdoors at the Urban Wellness Hub, and stable/farm visits for horses.
