  I was one of 50 college-age women selected to participate in an intensive political/campaign training summer program at The University of Texas at Austin. I stayed in a dorm with other participants and we were mentored by women who are experts in their field of study. Each day, I attended a seminar that trained and equipped me on public speaking, campaign management, fundraising, public policy issues and advocacy.
