In this capacity, I managed a US-based sales team during initial pre-launch sales of mCloud appliance to regional managed service providers to establish their own utility computing offerings. I reported directly to CEO and worked closely with him to develop the business case and overall market strategy for the product. I organized & conducted multiple online media campaigns to promote the product & private cloud computing for enterprises, including webinars & webisode interviews. Given my software engineering background, I also acted as sales engineer for early-stage sales calls with enterprise IT prospects to determine technological matches between mCloud technology and prospect’s existing infrastructure while identifying business case potential of new mCloud-enabled opportunities. I also mentored and helped train more junior members of our team who did not have a technical background. To empower our sales team, I deployed marketing automation software to capture & convert anonymous web traffic into actionable leads and integrated it with in-house CRM tools. Our team was responsible for developing Amazon's Appstore for Android, the proprietary appstore used on all Kindle Fire devices. This includes the self-service portal for Android developers to upload their apps to the Amazon catalog, the online marketplace for apps on Amazon.com itself, and our Android-based client for buying, downloading, and installing apps on your device.I led program management for the newly created software development organization responsible for building the appstore ecosystem, scaling the team and delivering the product from scratch within seven months. I simultaneously organized and managed the scrum process for software engineers distributed across five distinct cross-functional teams responsible for building the new retail customer experience, the self-service Developer Portal for ingesting Android applications into the Amazon catalog, and the new core services that integrate with Amazon.com’s underlying service-oriented architecture, respectively. I coordinated development with external teams across Amazon.com responsible for downstream service dependencies for the Amazon Appstore, Finally, I also managed the Appstore’s software quality & testing process in coordination with both our in-house QA engineers and the external firms we contracted to give us full code and quality coverage.   I was responsible for all software development & deployment for the primary Hulu.com site, including responsibility for the weekly development scheduling across three software development teams between Los Angeles & Beijing, ship deployment and quality assurance for the application. I constructed and managed the new software quality and release management pipeline for feature updates and deployments to Hulu.com. This entailed driving the creation and deployment of new production-replica test environments, developing formal test plans and scenarios, and working with the customer support team to carve out a new QA testing organization from their ranks.In addition, I was responsible for coordinating the requirements from the product & business teams, while owning the delivery of discrete project initiatives,I managed the development and deployment of Hulu's Social project, which included implementing Facebook-based user authentication and account creation on Hulu.com, deploying Hulu’s lightweight canvas application to play videos and publish stories directly within Facebook.com itself, and enabling Hulu’s automated watch activity publishing for Facebook-connected users. I acted as the primary vendor technical manager for Hulu’s integration efforts with external social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter.I also led and managed Hulu’s ongoing Multichannel Video Programming Distributor (MVPD) authentication projects, to provide advanced access to specific video content on our platform for customers through their cable and/or satellite television subscription credentials. That required managing development and relationships among content providers such as Fox and NBC, as well as a full range of MVPDs such as Dish Network, Cablevision, Verizon, and AT&T, among others. I owned, maintained, and expanded upon the scalability model to measure and analyze the ripple effects of massive volume increases across all of the systems. After identifying the relevant systems and applications in the pipeline, I developed both the test framework and performed the deep analysis on all of the results from all systems during the end-to-end tests. As a result of this engagement, I was able to develop a high-level cross-system architectural data flow for their claims process, a first within the organization that is reused to this day. I also developed graphical materials and presentations to communicate our findings to our executive sponsors in a manner that allowed them to understand the implications without being overwhelmed by the technical detail.I most recently served as an advisor for one of the largest global philanthropic organizations in the world to help them identify technical challenges in inbound grant proposals during their review process.
