  CivicSpark is a Governors's Initiate AmeriCorps Program dedicated to building capacity for the local government to address climate change.As a CivicSpark Climate Action Fellow serving in the Gateway Cities, I provide support in energy efficiency initiatives and climate action planning. The assistance in energy efficiency initiatives involves support in energy action plans, facility retrofits, and bill management software (EnergyCAP) for the cities within the Gateway Cities Energy Leader Partnership. These cities are City of Norwalk, Downey, South Gate, Lynwood, and Lakewood. This work also focuses on providing support to the Gateway Cities Council of Governments (GCCOG) in preparing a Climate Action Framework resource for their cities. The assistance includes preliminary research of each municipality's efforts in the sustainability and climate action sector. Additionally, train and provide technical support in developing a greenhouse gas inventory using ICLEI's ClearPath tool.
