  As a graduate engineer I worked across a number of different departments. The departments and the key duties that I undertook in each were:• Soils Department – o obtaining and assessing site data in the form of borelogs and site plans and making them presentable to be put in the soil report.o assisting to write soil reports for senior geotechnical engineer by interpreting the site borelogs to provide geotechnical recommendations to be used by the design engineer.• Investigations department – o helping senior staff investigate and analyse cracked houses through the use of an electronic water level.o underpin design and date analysis.o borehole analysis and assessment of material and soil moistures and cracks. o making recommendations as to actions that should be undertaken.o preparing reports for client detailing analysis and advice.• Domestic Engineering department – o design of footings for residential housing.o drafting of footings, structure and detailing using AutoCAD 2011LT.o single and double storey design.o bracing design. o liaising with clients to overcome design constraints.   As a Professional Engineer of the Future Transport Technology team I have actively been part of projects. Some of the key projects that I have taken part of include the assessment of congestion response in for road authorities, which uses probe data to derive speeds across the network. An assessment of improvement projects Post-Implementation in which the performance of the intersections were assessed before and after. As well as the work undertaken for State Road Authorities I have actively taken part of the updating of Austroads Guide to Traffic Management and other Austroads projects. Show less
