  -Troubleshot and repaired another divisions newly installed equipment in time to allow a visiting technical representative to calibrate the equipment at no further cost to the organization.-As Testing, Measuring, & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) custodian, redesigned the TMDE program, improved inventory, storage, and ease of auditing, resulting in providing better equipment in a more timely manner to the customer.-Produced numerous work procedures to correct long standing material deficiencies within the maintenance facility, which improved service capability while also reducing future maintenance costs.   -Responsible for the research and preparation of all maintenance procedures incorporating work instructions and quality assurance processes for the maintenance of complex propulsion and nuclear reactor plant systems.-Supervised 8 staff and 20 to 40 students in training, operation, and maintenance of complex propulsion and reactor plant systems. Member of Command Training and Command Assessment Teams.Accomplishments:-Researched and wrote over 50 work procedures with quality assurance control forms and over 200 work procedures for mechanical, electrical, and reactor control work centers.-Recognized as the expert in work practices, procedures and quality assurance.-Developed computerized work tracking log for the entire plant to track work and improved learning from past maintenance problems.-Directly assisted the Quality Assistance Officer, and site Quality Assurance with the implementation of a new centralized maintenance directives at the site.-Assisted the Command Equal Opportunity Manager by coordinating surveys for both the plant and the Production Training Group.Teamwork and Special Projects:-Team building skills are resulted in subordinates recognized twice as Staff Training Groups Most Valuable Player.-Leadership with high quality standards resulted in every reactor operator student passing final qualification boards on the first attempt. The only section of five to accomplish this feat.-Developed a standardized work procedure program, and generated standardized procedures for 26 commonly performed tasks which eliminated incalculable future man-hours for the common maintenance work. Directly manages scheduling, operations, and personnel.Job requires extensive travel, availability on-call, and exposure to industrial environments including heat, cold, noise levels, steam, welding fumes, and ionizing radiation.Accomplishments:-Mentored division in professional growth resulting in several members being selected as Sailor of the Quarter and culminating in a 100% promotion of eligible members during last year as supervisor.-Motivated division personnel to completed job qualifications, bringing the compliance rating from 50% to 100%, and driving newer members to complete job qualifications by 1-2 months earlier than scheduled.-Supervised the completion of numerous complex maintenance items, both corrective and preventative, ensuring unit was ready to deploy with the highest state of material success.Teamwork and Special Projects:-Focusing on quality improvement, transformed a severely below average division into a high performance team, ultimately recognized by the regional manager as the best in the region and resulting in an admirals letter of commendation to the division.-Supervised an engineering watch team during a high profile, complex testing evolution, saving enormous time and money. Awarded a Navy Achievement Medal for the program and cited by NAVSEA auditors as the reason for the flawless implementation.-Coordinated between a submarine, a destroyer, and an Italian port, for the first submarine visit to Italy without the support of a Submarine Tender.-Managed the first ever Virginia class submarine port visit to the European theater.-Supervised the first Voyage Repair Period conducted with a Submarine Tender in Diego Garcia by coordinating between the submarine, the submarine tender, the port authority, four maintenance activities, the submarines home squadron, and another submarine command group.-Developed the H1N1 epidemic contingency plan for Task Force 69.-Played a key role in the development of the Submarine Group Eight Continuity of Operations plan.
