With an annual turnover in excess of £35 million, major clients include Tesco, Sainsbury’s and 3663.Role: Part of the senior management team, providing IT support and development in a fast-paced manufacturing and supply chain environment. Managed a technical team of six providing support to over 200 office and home-based staff, covering two main sites. Drew up and successfully managed combined capital and revenue budgets in excess of £1 million per annum. Fully responsible for the selection and management of all suppliers related to the IT provision.Achievements: • Configured and implemented a formal software based Help Desk process in order to manage increasing workloads. As well as dramatically reducing response times, this new process also allowed for more specialisation within the team, as well as facilitating detailed analysis of the issues raised, therefore aiding the identification of particular problem areas or training requirements.• Developed the IT Team, transforming it from a small team of two general hardware support engineers to a fully qualified specialist team of six software engineers, able to support and develop our complex Cisco network as well install, support and fine-tune multiple instances of Microsoft Server in order to service all aspects of the business. • Pioneered a company-wide innovation process using workshop facilitation techniques in order to identify new market opportunities or business methodologies. Led project initiatives arising from such activity, realising particular success in competitor analysis and post-sales support. The collaborative approach with external parties, particularly customers and suppliers resulted in greater business retention as well as promoting closer consultative and strategic working relationships. I am fast developing a detailed understanding of the current and future landscape for digital public services in Scotland, and provide direct support to the Head of Platforms and Technologies in the form of developing, through the programme, the operational delivery of various technical services which will be vital to the overall technical architecture and design solution.
