      • Assume responsibility and care of 1-2 critically ill patients ranging from infant to young adult.• Assess condition and nursing needs of patients using systematic assessment; document all patient assessment findings in Cerner PowerChart. • Develop and maintain individualized care plans for assigned patients that include teaching needs and discharge planning. Set patient goals and priorities with patient and/or family. • Closely monitor patient vital signs, intake and output, and recognize clinical changes in patient status in order to alert physicians.• Assist physicians with bedside intubations, central and arterial line placements, tracheostomy changes, and bedside procedures requiring sedation.• Administer medications, blood product transfusions, and intravenous infusions including vasoactive drips and other critical drips such as vasoactive infusions, sedatives and paralytic drugs. Monitor patients for adverse reactions.• Manage patients with artificial airways on different ventilator modalities, nitric oxide and heliox therapies.• Obtain blood samples, insert IVs, titrate multiple vasoactive infusions and monitor and interpret hemodynamic measurements including CVP and arterial pressure. • Maintain and care for intracranial devices, arterial and central lines, drains and gastric tubes.• Provide emotional support and education to patients, their families, and their caregivers about medical procedures, medications, and their current and future care.• Gained proficiency in management of sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute trauma, and the acutely ill population.• Floated to other units including SICU, MICU, and CTICU during the COVID crisis to provide additional assistance.
