  Recruited to work with several engineering design software, including Navisworks, AFT Arrow, and Smartplant P&ID (SPPID), integrating their data to assist the team in fully and accurately modeling a power plant system visually, operationally, and physically for optimal function and safety. Further jobs included the parsing of field data to ensure proper design could be made around the field conditions as constraints.

  Laboratory Research Assistant

  Researched and implemented components of a self-optimizing chemical reactor, including the underlying machine-learning algorithm, to be used by the team at the Materials Engineering Research Facility. The machine-learning algorithm autonomously takes results of previous reactions to choose new reaction conditions in a closed-loop process. The implemented ML algorithm was then applied to a sample nucleophilic substitution chemical reaction to examine the algorithm's efficacy. The self-optimizing chemical reactor will save researchers time from performing tedious experiments while also potentially finding more optimal reaction conditions.Experience was also gained in the versatility and use of Linux Computing Clusters by employing Argonne's computing cluster to run Gaussian, a quantum-mechanics program integral in encoding the reaction space for the machine-learning algorithm to explore.
