  Working as Mechanical Shift incharge,in Limestone Calcination Plant:-1.Leading men of three(Fitter,Welder and Rigger) ensuring reliability and maintenance of all static and dynamic equipments.2.Handling breakdown maintenance.3.Ensuring proper preventive maintenance procedures are being conducted according to the Standard maintenance procedure.4.Implementing C.I.L.T technique i.e Cleaning, inspecting, lubricating and tightening, in preventive maintenance. 5. Engineering modifications(KAIZEN) for increasing efficiency of operations.Overall the main principle of working is handling the 3 Ms that is 1. Man2. Material3. Machine Mostrar menos After the completion of induction I have been posted to Limestone Calcination Plant which acts as a source of production of calcined lime which is a essential raw material used in making of steel by reacting with molten iron to form slag in Steel Melting Shop mostly for desulphurization and used as sinter flux, sinters are used as essential burden material in blast furnace where this flux helps to remove the gangue material from pig iron in the form of slag, the gangue material includes silica, sulphur,phosphorus, alumina and other compounds.After understanding the whole production process and working of all equipments i have been given independent shift to handle mechanical faults in machineries alongwith a team of technicians. Mostrar menos In induction period we were taught about the whole operations of an integrated steel plant that includes:-- Handling of raw materials(iron ore,coal,coke,limestone and dolomite). -Iron making process that includes iron agglomeration process( sintering and pelletization) . -Reduction of iron oxide through blast furnace route (pig iron) and direct reduction of iron (sponge iron). -Steel making process in the Steel Melting Shop, it consisted of EAF>LRF>VD>CCM.-Lime calcination plant operations which serves as flux provider in steel making which help remove gangue material in the form of slag.- Oxygen plant which provides oxygen for combustion process, oxygen blowing in EAF and other operations in steel making.-Captive power plant’s operations .
