  In this position, I developed and optimized high throughput, cell based screens for small chemical molecules to be used as adjuvants for increased vaccine potency. I used a range of techniques including ELISA, immunoflourescence, western blotting, protein purification, and tissue culture.Additionally, I characterized the effects of a key mutation of MdmX, an critical regulator of the "Gaurdian of the Genome," p53. I also worked on a project investigating the changes to plant DNA after treatment with the phyto-hormone Auxin. Skills developed include southern blotting, vector targeting, knock-in mice generation, sub-cloning, PCR, gel electrophoresis, bisulfite treatment, sequencing, SDS-Page, bacterial culture, and tissue culture.
