  I spent much of my time as a staff accountant on project work supporting a 9-month restructuring of the corporation's financial ERP software, acting as a SME for the general ledger team. As part of this project some of the tasks I managed were converting over 35,000 general ledger account balances from a 5-dimensional to 8-dimensional chart of accounts, standardizing the worldwide revaluation journal entry process, and coordinating and writing project team communications. I also supported the project as a business user participating in INT and UAT testing. As part of my more regular duties I acted as the business-side system administrator for Blackline account reconciliation software, supporting around 90 business end users, and managed accounting close procedures for F5 Canada.   Software Developer: Cost Sharing for YNAB

  Cost Sharing for YNAB is an open-source React web application built to work with YNAB (You Need a Budget), integrating with the YNAB API. Since YNAB, a popular budgeting software, doesn't natively support tracking of a shared credit card account (such as a communal expense credit card shared between partners), YNAB members can use this add-on app to incorporate a shared credit card into their personal budget without making their expenses look inflated. Members authenticate with their existing YNAB credentials via OAuth, allowing the app to connect securely to their personal account. At first release, I used this app to train myself in React hooks as a frontend learning experience, and hosted the app on my own Linux-based Raspberry Pi with Node and systemd on the backend (although this got to be a hassle whenever I had a power outage, so since then I've switched to Docker/Google Cloud Run :)).
