      VWO Influence of heat on solar panels

      For my final research project, I (together with another class mate) researched the influence of heat on the efficiency of solar panels. Going to international presentations and building test set-ups, the results were very interesting, awared with a score of 8 out of 10. Besides this, I was training on national level in long track speed skating on a daily basis.

      Master’s Degree Integrated Product Design

      Activities and Societies: Graduation Porject for Wepa Netherlands Within the Integrated Product Design (IPD) master, I focused on concept development and communication with the clients. I designed various products for the distant future, ranging from furniture for houses to private jet interiors, and often related to sustainability. Within a team, I was the planner, visual designer, technical designer, and communication manager.

      Activities and Societies: Automotive Design minor, taught by Elmer van Grondelle and Koos Eissen. Bachelor Final Project for BOSKA B.V. A lot of different projects, of which most in a team. Except for the Bachelor Final Project. Within a team, I developed myself as visual expert and the one to put everything in 3D (drawing or SolidWorks). During the design process, I covered the planning, constructional solutions, and communication textually and visually. Personally, I developed an interest in sustainability as a key consideration point in my design projects.

      Doing this, you train 7 times to sometimes 14 times a week. During this time I was part of the best long track speed skaters of The Netherlands within my age group, every year participating in Dutch National Championships. Almost every time ending up within the top 10. For this I needed to train on speedbikes, mountainbikes, inline skates, shorttrack, long track, running and specific speed skating training methods.

      Team BAKI is a long track speed skating team, that consists of seven pro-active members and is represented at Dutch national championships as well as international championships. For more information: https://www.facebook.com/TeamBAKI/ For this team, I designed the logo and clothing style and managed all creative and visual aspects. Keeping the Facebook page updated with news and accompanying it with visuals. Furthermore, I helped in recruiting sponsors by designing the team's brochure.

      My job was to design a dispenser range that will be innovative and future proof for multiple contexts, while enhancing the interaction with clients.This resulted in a foldable dispenser range to decrease the box size during transport and thereby the environmental impact. Transport is the biggest contribution to environmental emissions in a dispenser's life. A second part of my thesis was dispenser wrapping. Wepa (Van Houtum) was looking for a suitable solution to their more expensive stainless steel line. By using a PE based wrapping, the look of stainless steel can be achieved whilst maintaining the costs and easy recyclability of the plastic dispensers. This also gives the opportunity to release limited editions and personalize the dispensers for individual businesses. Show less
