I worked to help challenge the status quo by collaborating on transitional research through consulting and publishing on human centered design and innovative methods.   The Cardiometabolic Nutrition Research Lab studies the role of foods, nutrients, bioactives, and dietary patterns in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. This lab conducts a range of controlled clinical trials to investigate the effect of diet on a number of emerging and established risk factors for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.

  As a part of the Research and Surveillance team within the Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Use Prevention Care and Treatment I have worked on a variety of public health research projects including literature reviews, data entry/analysis, development of communication materials, presentations and reports. Most notably, I played an instrumental role in an educational outreach campaign focused on bringing awareness of the danger’s fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid, poses within the current NYC drug market. Through careful coordination I was able to gain the support of several community partners in order to promote harm reduction messaging while providing opioid overdose response trainings. While outreaching throughout NYC, I was responsible for monitoring project data collection activities, coordinating all activities involved in the project including managing outreach, and creating deliverables for internal and external use.
