      I simultaneously managed the planning, scope, development, design, construction, and direction of three major building projects valued at $70 million. I identified actual and potential problems and determined the necessity for change and remedial action. I prepared various reports and correspondence pertaining to such matters as progress payments, contract modifications, materials, and delays in constructionAchievements:• Negotiated a significant 180-day delay with the contractor for a critical headquarters building project valued over $20 million for the 5th Special Forces Group and returned the project back on schedule• Served as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) ensuring contractor compliance with schedules, specifications, submittals, and budget management• Served as the Chairman for the Additional Safety Training subcommittee ensuring the organization’s safety program met USACE and OSHA standards resulting in the program certified through the Voluntary Protection Program• Oversaw the maintenance work for a $20 million, four building complex while under one year warranty from the construction contractor Show less I conducted planning and monitoring of organizational construction missions both at Fort Hood and in support of military operations in Iraq to include performing quality assurance inspections to ensure that all work adhered to design specifications and safety standards.       I provided guidance to the staff based on the director's intent for training, professional development, health, welfare and morale of over 60 senior military personal (serving as trainer/mentors) as the Chief of Staff (CoS). I assumed the duties of the director as required in his absence. I ensured that all assigned trainer/mentors were trained and thoroughly familiar with the most current Army doctrine and directed the maintenance and accountability of equipment valued in excess of $4 million.       Project Section Supervisor

      I establish the overall objectives for the Project Section and provide technical and administrative supervision as necessary of a diverse, multi-disciplined, 15-member team consisting of CAD and GIS personnel, engineers, project managers, and contracting officer representatives (COR). I supervise the preparation of architectural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering plans, specifications, and the estimates of labor and materials for non-recurring maintenance construction projects at the medical facility. I am responsible for the development of the strategic capital investment process and meeting with staff and departments to develop projects for the medical campus master plan.Achievements:• Managed the planning, design, procurement, and construction of over 75 projects valued at over $65,000,000• Supervised the Project Section Team’s efforts to correct nearly $3,000,000 in Facility Condition Assessment deficiencies as listed in the Capital Asset Inventory.• Managed the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Infrastructure upgrades as directed by the VA National office for the hospital.
