      As Director, I lead a hired staff of 30 students in 20 weekly programs: 15 off-campus volunteer programs for students and 5 on-campus social justice initiatives. Our four departments -- Health & Disabilities, Neighborhood Perspectives, Education & Mentoring, and On-Campus Advocacy-- all cover topics related to social justice and service for Santa Clara and San Jose. I am the liason between our staff, the student body, and our administrators, meeting regularly with all parties to ensure SCCAP's success and connection to our community. We manage a budget of $66,000 to provide transportation to all programs, stipends for staff, and hosting events. Show less

Accomplishments include: - Collecting the first student-led quantitative data on LGBTQ+ students at Santa Clara University- Leading a focus group to collect qualitative data on LGBTQ+ students-Sitting as a student representative on the LGBTQ+ Equity, Justice and Belonging Working Group.       "The Jean Donovan Fellowship is designed to support undergraduate students who desire to deepen their understanding of social justice issues through a summer community-based learning experience of 6 weeks or longer. The Fellowship provides $3,000 in grant funding to recipients who work a minimum of 30 hours/week with a non-profit organization." The Jean Donovan Fellowship is funding my work with Equality Ohio in the Summer of 2023!

      Intern in the Public Policy department of Equality Ohio. Tasks include supporting staff and interns, administrative work, attending meetings with partner organizations, and researching economic impacts of anti-LGBT policies. Specific projects include the economic impact of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation on Ohio businesses, reviewing teaching guides to create safe learning environments for LGBTQ+ youth, updating data on non-discrimination ordinances in over 200 Ohio cities, and revewing elected officials efforts to bring equity and inclusion to their consituents.
