  🛡️ Protecting the Rumaila Oil Fields and associated Transport Links 🛡️Moving forward from my time in the military, I effectively transferred my core values which had been established within my service to a synonymous civilian role. Delivering excellent operational service to clients as a Quick Reaction Force Commander and Incident Commander, I provided rapid responses to potential or perceived threats to and around the Rumaila Oil Fields, resolving scenarios in a calm and composed manner.Building and nurturing sustainable relationships with local stakeholders and intermediaries to ensure the safety of clients while utilising transport routes was a key part of my strategy in this role. I responsively planned and adapted transport routes and logistics in line with risk and threat levels, communicating effectively with wider teams at daily briefings and through interim methods between times. I proactively devised and implemented a Risk Management strategy to minimise the exposure of protection personnel and reduce the risk of violence in the area, and was integral to the Armed Protection Team (APT) bus group, tasked with the safety of clients during transport on regular daily routes and weekly VIP airport commissions.   🛡️ Leading the way for safe diplomacy work across Baghdad 🛡️Moving over to work in Baghdad, I was appointed to a Diplomatic contract, a highly sought-after position within the area and a post achieved against significant competition. This promotion was gained in recognition of my previous excellent performance within the organisation, and on contracts for the wider security community.I became fully accountable for the planning and execution of all journey management in collaboration with the Close Protection Team (CPT) and the Regional Security Officer (RSO). This includes collaborating with clients in a highly professional manner prior to engagements, ensuring all eventualities are discussed for risk management purposes, and both parties are satisfied with the undertakings of the event. To support this, I coordinate and facilitate reconnaissance and liaison excursions to gather intelligence and inform route planning. In reliably delivering clear daily briefings to clients and the CPT, I enable the smooth implementation of daily plans, ensuring the safety of Diplomats across the Embassy within Baghdad. I also facilitate and provide mobile security services as a Driver and Commander of a B7 Armoured Vehicle while transporting clients. Show less 🛡️ Managing operations, incidents and partner Relationships 🛡️Within this role I assuredly managed the Quick Reaction Force Team, including coordinating all operational aspects, to secure the safety of company clients, and the Rumaila Oil Fields as an asset. This included proactively leading the Emergency Response as Incident Point Commander for all security issues, critical incidents, oil, water and gas leaks, RTI’s and Fire incidents; within this role I requested and coordinated additional agencies, and ensured compliance with all protocols, regulations and best practice. Clearly communicating with the operations room in a timely and precise manner for the duration of incidents, I followed up by producing concise and informative incident reports as part of standard investigational procedures.Investing in the team around the asset, I mentored and encouraged a number of the staff in their continuing professional development, while attaining a Distinction overall in the completion of my own extensive study. Reaching out to develop relationships, I successfully built a team of local Nationals equipped to support the security effort, and enabled the harmonisation of the two partnership elements.
