    • Holistic Special Education Foundation, Sri Lanka

      Feb 2016 - Nov 2019
Consultant, a Founder Member and Director.

In February 2016 a group of volunteers ( Sri Lankan & British) created a holistic education project for children with special needs in the Trincomlaee District of Sri Lanka. As a team we coordinated visits to the government special needs units, 2 doctors ran specialist medical clinics, a Yoga specialist introduced therapeutic Special Yoga workshops and I led training workshops for the teachers and parents and invited other SEN experts to work with us. We saw the huge needs in the community too, with many children with additional needs who are not able to access any type of education. We will are now expanding further into our 'Community Education and Well- Being,' project in the Trincomlaee District. I have documented our work and together our team created a 'model' project which will be re-created in other districts of Sri Lanka and potentially in other countries. We work with the Education and Health Department in Sri Lanka, primarily in the Eastern Province and with N.G.O.'s who have shared commitment and passion to support children with additional needs and their teachers, families &carers and midwives & connected professionals. The 'Holistic Special Education Foundation,' is a registered non-profit in Sri Lanka Weniger anzeigen
