      Served in a variety of sales and management positions for this print media publishing company, which owned a daily newspaper, nine weekly shopping guides and printing division. Responsibilities included management of sales representatives - creation of sales policies, goals, and training of 25 employees. Also managed the corporate marketing program and supervised the in-house ad agency.

      As the Field Representative for Michigan Historic Preservation Network (MHPN) and the National Trust for Historic Preservation (NTHP), I assisted Michigan property owners (commercial and residential), community groups, preservation nonprofits, historic district commissions, and municipal leaders preserve and protect the historic places that matter to them. I provided guidance and support on a variety of topics including preservation techniques and approaches, organizational development, capacity building, establishing historic designations, securing economic incentives and grants, and connected people with a network of preservation experts and resources. I conducted and organized a wide variety of educational workshops/presentations, working closely with municipal leaders, preservation groups and Main Street managers. I wrote preservation blogs and newsletter articles on a variety of preservation topics for MHPN and NTHP, and created numerous resource guides to the MHPN toolkit, which serve as models for other preservation organizations. MHPN is Michigan's statewide preservation nonprofit and NTHP is the largest national preservation nonprofit. Show less
