      Through my role supporting warehouse, administrative and management staff, I gained invaluable knowledge of the medical device industry. I worked with Quality Assurance team on a variety of projects, including an inventory clear out and the preparation for a regulatory audit. I returned at in December to support the finance department as they closed 2011 and prepared for 2012.

      Through performing administrative tasks including registering patients and facilitating department flow, I developed the knowledge and skills necessary to lead quality improvement projects. I designed and evaluated the Emergency Department Patient Service Clerk Positional Manual and the Community Information Boards for patients looking for local pharmacies and walk-in clinics.As an Emergency Department Partnership Council member, I attended bimonthly meetings to discuss and problem solves multidisciplinary quality and safety issues in the Emergency Department.       Working with CHEO's Emergency Department Research Group, I gained clinical research expertise in a fast-paced environment. I was responsible for screening and approaching participants to determine eligibility for two clinical trials, including a Health Canada Regulated trial. Further, I obtained informed consent and enrolled eligible patients, performed follow-up calls to obtain data points and liaised with departmental volunteers and staff to ensure successful recruitment. A strong working knowledge of Tri-Council Policy, CHEO Standards of Practice, Good Clinical Practice and Health Canada Division 5 Regulations was needed to perform these tasks. Show less

      Responsible for leading projects to improve research capacity and patient engagement across the CHEO Research Institute. These projects included software optimization, resource development, and program implementation. Tasks include drafting institutional policies, performing environmental scans, presenting new programs to stakeholders, and analyzing qualitative data. I managed multiple local and provincial clinical research studies, including two Health Canada regulated clinical trials. My tasks included training and managing a ten-person staff; reviewing consent forms, study documents, and protocols for feasibility and research ethics compliance; and liaising with study sites to ensure studies are run in compliance with provincial and national regulations.
