Developed community engagement with the NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Authorities, emergency planning departments and the Health Protection Agency.Responsible for the planning and execution of medical and healthcare support to all military personnel involved in ceremonial duties, including; Queens Birthday Parade, Garter Service Windsor, Royal Wedding, Diamond Jubilee and the 2012 Olympics.Responsible for the integration of service provision through negotiation and the establishment of contracts to provide emergency medical cover for ceremonial events.       Responsible to the Chief of Defence Personnel as lead for defence operational welfare policy, including assurance and governance of the Deployed Welfare Package, to deployed military personnel throughout the world.Senior advisor to the Minister of State for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans on all issues regarding operational welfare.Lead Staff Officer for a number of Joint Service Publications, giving direction to the Service community on areas of welfare policy.Policy lead regarding interpretation and arbitration of joint casualty and compassionate support.Policy advisor regarding operational welfare to the Defence Military Crises Centre. Author of the Defence Recovery Capability policy, enabling the transition of wounded, injured and sick Service personnel either to a return to duty, or to a useful life within a civilian environment and special advisor to the Defence Recovery Steering Group.Lead for the Mass Casualty Incident policy for the management of a major incident abroad, involving MoD personnel and their repatriation back to the UK. This includes cross-government briefing up to and including Prime Minister level and liaison with all external agencies, including international embassies and governments.Responsible for the implementation of the Deployed Welfare Package, ensuring Service personnel gain the fundamental elements of welfare; communicate, entertain, connect and support. This required close work with both the contract agencies and the military Permanent Joint Headquarters at Northwood and resulted in an £11M saving. Show less
