  Royal Engineer/Serviceman| British Army Sept 2019 – Dec 2023Key Responsibilities:● Responsible for the maintenance and servicing on a range of military equipment and machinery, including Tanks and Tractors, by performing tasks such as greasing, oil changes, track repairs, and changing tracks, ensuring optimal functionality and readiness for operation● Maintain awareness of fleet management schedules relevant to repair and maintenance● Undertake construction and demolition tasks to support military operations, including building fortifications, bridges, roads, trenches, and defensive positions, as well as clearing obstacles● Attend Army drills including search and clearance operations to locate and remove mines, detonating explosives and improvised explosive devices in high-pressure exercise environments● Build, repair, and maintain bridges to facilitate the movement of troops, vehicles, and equipment across water obstacles and difficult terrain● Provide marshalling support for HR vehicles driving on bridges, conduct traffic control, and guide tanks using hand signals and mini poles effectively● Utilise 2-way radio communication for seamless coordination with team members during movements and training attacks● Undertaking physical labour lifting over 30kg when required, following correct manual handling techniques when moving materials and equipment consistently for 12-hour shifts, day and night, in extreme weather and isolated conditions● Safely operate LVs and Tanks as required, conducting daily vehicle pre-start inspections before operating checking all fluid and oil levels, tracks, battery connects, lights, brakes, fuel levels and reporting defects● Actively participate in daily pre-start meetings and toolbox safety discussions to address potential hazards and ensure safe work practices● Ensure full adherence with Defence Force OH&S procedures and legislation including when operating vehicles, and weapons, wearing the correct P.P.E Show less
